Bring it back! HUMANOGRAPHY

For its 24th edition, Tirana International Film Festival returns to a fundamental question:

What does it mean to be human today?

In a world created by fragmented realities, conflict, uncertainty and constant change, HUMANOGRAPHY brings the human being back to the centre, to our:

  • Identities
  • Memories
  • Needs
  • Connections

and the realities that shape us.

We are formed by where we come from…

…our culture, language, history, beliefs and the memories we carry. Yet identity is never fixed. We are also defined by what we need: to belong, to connect, to be seen, to be remembered. Beneath our differences, these human needs remain.

The visual language of HUMANOGRAPHY inhabits the fragile space between presence and absence, connection and isolation, reality and perception. Through human figures, gestures and fragments, the images leave space to question what we see and what remains unseen.

And perhaps the future begins with the willingness to look again. To question what we believe, whose reality we are seeing and what we still have in common. HUMANOGRAPHY does not offer answers; it creates space for questions, bringing the human back to the centre, not as an ideal, but as something complex, contradictory and constantly evolving.

TIFForum

Extending this conversation beyond the screen, TIFForum brings together filmmakers, producers and creative voices to discuss the realities shaping cinema today, from identity and representation to authorship, production, social change and new forms of storytelling.

  • Who gets to tell the story?
  • Whose reality gets to be seen?
  • And where does the human remain within it?

HUMANOGRAPHY is also about asking who gets to tell the story and whose reality gets seen.
