DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Arthur Gay

Having spent his early years of life of- ten moving countries and homes with his mother, Arthur’s voice reflects the transient nature of his upbringing. From Tāmaki Makaurau, New Zealand, Ar - thur Gay is a director and writer based in New York and recent graduate of the Columbia University MFA film pro - gram. He is the recipient of the Miloš Forman Directing Fellowship, the Kath - arina Otto-Bernstein Mentorship and Development Prize and a Sundance Fel - low from the 2024 Screenwriters Inten - sive Program. His most recent short film ‘When the Geese Flew’ world premiered at Cannes in the Directors’ Fortnight 2025. Before moving to the USA, he complet - ed his bachelor’s degree in Film at Unitec Institute of Technology in New Zealand.
