Daniel, a Mexican boy, arrives to school Monday morning wearing a brand new pair of light up sneakers that his father brought him from a business trip in the United States. When a classmate arrives to school wearing exact same sneakers, he begins to suspect that their shoes are the key to a terrible secret.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Gerardo Coello Escalante
Gerardo Coello Escalante is a Mexican filmmaker based in CDMX and New York. He was the 1st Assistant Director on the feature films Shiva Baby, Dating and New York, and Reality. In Mexico, he was an Assistant Director on Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Bardo, and served as the 2nd Unit Director for Luis Mandoki on his film Presencias. In 2017 he was awarded a Sundance Ignite Fellowship for his short film La Visita. In 2019, his feature script Forgive us Sinners was accepted into the Sundance Feature Film Program through the Screenwriters Intensive Lab. Additionally, he has directed various short films and music videos. Viaje de Negocios is his first short film in his home country of Mexico.
