DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Caroline Poggi, Jonathan Vinel
Caroline Poggi was born in 1990 in Ajaccio. She studied Film at the University of Paris, and then graduated from the University of Corsica. She directed various films before embarking on a collaboration with Jonathan Vinel for TANT QU'IL NOUS RESTE DES FUSILS À POMPE (2014), which won the Golden Bear for Best Short Film at the Berlinale. Their first feature film JESSICA FOREVER (2018) premiered at TIFF and subsequently played at the Berlinale. The duo's newest film HOW ARE YOU? (2025) was selected for Berlinale. Born in Toulouse, France in 1988, he studied film editing at La Fémis in Paris and started making short films whilst still a student. In 2014 he and collaborator Caroline Poggi won the Golden Bear in the Berlinale Shorts section with TANT QU'IL RESTE DES FUSILS A POMPE (AS LONG AS SHOTGUNS REMAIN). Their short film NOTRE HERITAGE (OUR LEGACY) screened in the same section in 2016. Their film WATCH THE FIRE OR BURN INSIDE IT (2022) and THE EXPLODING GIRL (2024) were both selected for Locarno IFF. Their film EAT THE NIGHT (2024) has been selected in Quinzaine des Cinéastes for Cannes IFF 2024 and for Sarajevo FF 2024. The duo's newest film HOW ARE YOU? (2025) was selected for Berlinale.
