The Cello
1992. A group of multicultural refugees sit squeezed together in the back of a minibus. Plagued by cold, exhaustion and thoughts of a life left behind, a large cello case becomes the centre of what at first seems like a banal conflict.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Robert Deçani
ROBERT DECANI was born in 1999 in Rotenburg (Wümme). Growing up in tranquil Verden with the dream of becoming a professional footballer. There, from the age of 15, the missing sporting talent was simultaneously recognized and the existing artistic talent was discovered. Then, while still at school, I started making a variety of short films. After graduating from high school, I studied philosophy for a year, then studied Arts, Media & Culture with a focus on film and literature in Groningen (NL). Meanwhile, he diligently made moderately good short films, fell in love with documentaries and completed internships as a camera and production assistant on professional film productions. Since 2021 studying directing at the ifs International Film School Cologne.
