DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Nafiss Nia
Nafiss Nia is a Dutch Iranian poet, writer, filmmaker, cultural entrepreneur and public speaker. She was born in Isfahan (Iran) and has lived in the Netherlands since 1992. Nafiss studied to become a film director at the Film Faculty of Art University and studied Modern Persian Literature at the State University in Tehran, Iran. In the Netherlands she studied Screenwriting at the Film and Television Academy in Amsterdam. She is currently following the LinC | Leadership in Culture course and since 2012, she has been the business & artistic director of the Granate Foundation, an organization that promotes and makes visible inclusivity in Dutch film & poetry.

Nafiss Nia
