Swine Food

When one of his pigs gets sick, Emilio is sent by his father Diego, an alcoholic who hasn't been able to get out of bed for days, to get the vet. The vet checks her, finds nothing and concludes that the pig is pretending so that he does everything for her. After putting her down, Emilio realizes that the pig is not the only one who has been faking.

DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Benjamín Figueroa

Born in Mexico City, he has a degree in Dramatic Literature and Theatre from UNAM and Audiovisual and Film Production in CCC. Screenwriter and producer, he has received some awards and recognitions, such as the International Emmy for Best series in a Foreign Language for Falco in 2018, a nomination for Best Original Screenplay at the Colombian Academy Macondo Awards for The Night of the Beast in 2024 and winner for Best Mexican Film in GIFF 2024 and other festivals for his work in Broken Borders. His short film, Swine Food, won Best Screenplay at GIFF 2022 and is his first work as a director.
