DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Dan Holmwood

Dan Holmwood is a writer/director from Kildare. He has been making films since he was very young and that early stuff is terrible, and will never see the light of day if he has anything to do with it. He even went to college to study film but dropped out after eight days. His short films Here Lies Mrs. Higgins & Marky's Bad Week have been screened at various Irish & International film festivals. In 2018 he was nominated for "Best Short" at the YDA’s for "Marky's Bad Week". He didn't win. With his commercial work he likes to inject (with a big needle) a lot of his style and comedy. His latest short film Scrumpy, a coming-of-age dramedy had it’s world premiere this year at the 35th Galway Film Fleadh. Currently he’s writing his first feature film So Long, Motel Memphis. He'll stop referring to himself in the third person now. Because it's just getting weird.
