DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Tuna Kaptan
Tuna Kaptan was born in Munich of Turkish parentage. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media, Theatre and Romance Studies. He received further education at the University of Television and Film Munich and the ENERC Film School in Buenos Aires. Numerous honors were given to his documentaries, including “Two at the Border” at IDFA and “Turtle Shells” at Dok Leipzig. His previous short film “Are you listening mother”? has acclaimed international success, premiering in Clermont-Ferrand and was the most awarded German short in 2019. “Raw Materials“ won the German Cinema New Talent Award at Hof International Film Festival in 2023. He’s a member of the German Film Academy.
