DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Martin Strange-Hansen
Martin Strange-Hansen graduated from the Danish Film school in 2001, with his Student Academy Award® winning graduation film FEEDING DESIRE . His next short film, THIS CHARMING MAN won an Oscar® in the Best Short Live Action category in 2003. He is also the creator of the first Danish webisode, in 2008, the Webby Awards-Honoree PINLY & FLAU . Martin Strange-Hansen gained a nomination nod at The Danish Film Awards (Robert) for his previous short film JENSEN LIVES HERE . He was the chairman for the Danish Filmdirectors Association from 2010-2013, and subsequently Vicechairman from 2013-2015. As an avid short film lover, he has acted as head of program at the OFF Odense International Film festival in 2012, and as jury member at numerous short film festivals including Clermont-Ferrand & Interfilm Berlin. Martin Strange-Hansen has a long track record of nurturing and developing new talent as Commissioning Editor at Filmworkshop Copenhagen, Odense and Aarhus, as well as being a mentor for young filmmakers at most Danish Film schools. He is a voting member of AMPAS,® as well as The Danish Film academy. Besides writing and directing his own projects, Martin Strange- Hansen recently has started acting as a scriptwriter for fellow directors, including the actual events inspired drama (Synkefri) SUNKEN HEARTS, currently in development with Swulli Film, Aarhus.
