DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Majid Al Remaihi

Majid Al-Remaihi is an award-winning artist and filmmaker from Doha, Qatar. His short film And Then They Burn the Sea was Qatar’s first at Locarno in 2021, and went on to win Best Short in Vienna Shorts, the Silver Tanit at Carthage, as well as screen at festivals such as Palm Springs. It became Qatar’s first submis- sion for Oscars consideration. He is enrolled at Le Fresnoy - Studio national des Arts contem- porains. His work focuses on unraveling the complexity of historical narratives and their reconstructions within the Arabian Gulf.
