A summer morning in the south of France. Lou, 5, detects a foreign smell in her mother’s hair: cold tobacco. When a man joins them to spend the afternoon at the river, Lou watches him and wonders: who is he, what is he doing there and why is he sticking to his mother?
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Tara Maurel
After studying law and international relations, Tara joined the CNC, where she worked for 5 years. She then changed careers and trained as an assistant director on several feature films. This foray into film sets enabled her to meet Helena Pokorny, her producer and graduate of La Fémis, with whom she developed her first film Lou, which was shot in October 2023, in the south of France.
