Overview

Fraude

Produced in the wake of the Mexican presidential elections of 2012, “Fraude” embodies the complex dynamic between political organization, mass media and individuals during contemporary presidential elections. The video presents a printing press infinitely producing to allude to the fraudulent structure of national elections experienced within democratic systems. It focuses on each part and process of the machine, such as movement, force and time, addressing how this machinery is supported by obscure governmental situations that control access to information. In this sense, “Fraude” reflects on the origins of the printing press, as a technology that forever changed society, and the current conditions of political elections which corrupt nature seem to be more common across democracies around the world.
