Overview
Enantiodromia
The video is an abstract representation of dreams, sleepwalking and the spiritual and mystical powers it entails for everyone. The protagonist and the viewer travel through different states of awake and sleep. While it can be hard to fall asleep, a rather surreal world awaits you on the other side. Landscapes and objects around you start to change, transitioning from a bright and fantastic surrounding to mysterious underwater scenarios.
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Carla Streckwall, Stathis Kalatzis
Carla Streckwall is an internationally active, Berlin-based media artist and designer. In her work she deals with the effects of digitalisation on our daily life and various models of perception. She creates immersive video and augmented reality installations that derive from scientific research and collections of experience, translated into artistic interventions in both virtual and real space. The isolation of individuals, increased by the pandemic, and the shifting of all activities to digital platforms, inspired her to deal with the therapeutic aspects of simulation and virtual worlds. She mainly develops landscapes and surfaces through the experimental use of 3D software and photogrammetry.
