DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Ilir Tsouko
Ilir Tsouko is a visual storyteller, photographer and filmmaker, born in Albania, raised in Athens, and now based in Berlin and Tirana. He is working on long-term projects revolving around the perception and creation of identity with its ever-changing shapes. Tsouko’s work has been published in The New York Times, The Guardian, DIE ZEIT MAGAZIN, The Washington Post, ARTE, ZDF, Der Spiegel, Vogue and Polaroid, among others. His photography has received awards and been exhibited at Helsinki Photo Festival, 9. f/stop - Festival für Fotografie, Humble Arts Foundation New York City and Space 52 Athens. He won the IJ4EU- Investigative Journalism for Europe in 2021. Albgreko is his first documentary as a sole director.
