DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY​ - Karolina Monwid-Olechnowicz

Karolina Monwid-Olechnowicz was born in 1995 ( Łódź, Poland) She sees more than the face, but a multi-level expression of emotionality that goes beyond the frames. Student of the year of diploma at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia in the field of „Cinematography, Directing and Art Photography”. She received the Grand Prix of the prestigious competition „VIVA! Photo Awards 2020!” & also 1st Prize in the Portrait category for her work "Outside the borders". Author of several etudes and short films, her last experimental film „Flora” have been shown and awarded at several international film festivals, such as: Tous Courts (France) , Porto Femme (Portugal) , BJX Bajío (Mexico) , as well in Poland - Koszalin Youth and Film Festival and many others. She creates an intimate original cinema focused on discovering hidden emotions, often embedded in the original microworld to encourage viewers to reflection. The most important thing for her is to look for the right path in the emotional expression of her characters and the psychological aspect of the creation process itself.
