DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Julien Bernard-Simmonds
Julien Bernard-Simmonds is a young Belgian director. During his studies at the IAD, he directed "Mekong", inspired by Conrad's travels, as a way of longing for elsewhere. He then shot a documentary in a ruined glass factory, haunted by the memories of the workers. Since 2022, he also works for the Brussels Art Film Festival. For "A long night ahead", he immersed himself with Pierre Fortin in the world of truck drivers, in an approach that blends cinéma du réel and magic realism. Otherwise, he enjoys watching his plastic cat swing its paw, provided there's a bit of sunshine.
