DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Hossein Moein
Hossein Moein is an Iranian 2D animator and visual artist with an academic background in Graphic Design and Animation. He began studying animation in high school, later earning a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and a Master's degree in Animation, where he refined his focus on visual storytelling and character-driven narratives. He has worked as a concept artist on prominent Iranian productions, including World War III, winner of the Orizzonti Award at the Venice Film Festival, directed by Houman Seyyedi, and the series Actor directed by Nima Javidi. His short film First Day is a fully hand-drawn 2D animation produced over two years in TVPaint. The film explores social anxiety through restrained dialogue and expressive visual language. Moein's work centers on psychological depth, atmosphere, and poetic minimalism.
