DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Alexander Stamatiadis
Alexander Stamatiadis (b. 1999, Athens) is a Greek-German director, screenwriter, and photographer exploring identity, memory, and belonging through autobiographical storytelling. Self-taught, his tender, emotionally attentive gaze often returns to themes of love, loss, and heritage. His short Atlantic (2025) won the Special Jury Award at Drama IFF and Best Short Film at Olympia IFF. His film A Hot Day premiered on NOWNESS. His upcoming short Volta (2027) is in development with the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center. He lives and works in Athens.
