Overview

Between Thoughts
During what seems like an ordinary evening, three friends, Alexe, Étienne, and Gabriel, come together to celebrate Gabriel’s birthday. Between them lies a pact: to live the truth of the moment without filters. This intimate ritual becomes a fragile dance between affection and tension.

DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Gabriel-Antoine Roy
Since a young age, Gabriel-Antoine Roy has been passionate about acting. It was on stage in the theater that he performed for the first time, and it was a real shock: love at first sight. At 14, he bought his first camera and convinced his entire neighborhood to make films in which he starred. A little later, he discovered improvisation, a discipline particularly close to his heart. A graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada in 2018, he continues to explore the many facets of his craft: dance, performance, on-camera acting, clowning, and mask work. This pursuit has led him to work with artists such as Nicolas Cantin, Peter James, Mélanie Pilon, Peter Schumann, Valdimir "7Starr," Mélanie Demers, Stéphane Crête, and Frédérick Gravel. In recent years, he has taken part in numerous theatrical productions. Notably, he performed in Les Beaux-Dimanches by Christian Lapointe, presented at Théâtre La Chapelle. At Théâtre Prospero, he played "the Other," a half-human, half-creature being, in L’apparition des os dans le corps, a production by Création dans la chambre, written by Gabriel Plante and directed by Félix-Antoine Boutin. More recently, he portrayed an incompetent camp counselor in Zéro de conduite, a creation by Jérémie Niel and Evelyne de la Chenelière. At the same time, he was both performer and dancer in On/Off by Jacques Poulin-Denis, a production currently touring in Quebec. Gabriel-Antoine also has a strong creative vision, which he brought to life in the play Mains moites, where he was both an actor and a creator, directed by Brigitte Haentjens and Catherine Gaudet in 2023. He is also the co-creator and performer of On n'est pas des trous de cul, a play presented at Espace Libre in 2020. Additionally, he created La Grande Mascarade in collaboration with Étienne Lou, an interdisciplinary performance unveiled at Théâtre La Chapelle in 2024 and set to be revived at Espace Libre in 2025. On screen, he played JP in Ariane Louis-Seize’s horror comedy Vampire Humaniste cherche suicidaire consentant and Johnny B. in Alexandre Franchi’s latest film. He has also appeared on television in the series Faits Divers, Toute la vie, Après, Libre dès maintenant, and Indéfendable.
