DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Mingzhe Zhou
Mingzhe Zhou is a writer and director based in Toronto. Having lived in China, Singapore, the UK, Macau, and now Canada, his multicultural background deeply informs his artistic perspective. His work is rooted in a commitment to exploring the complexities of human connection, identity, and belonging. With a background in communication studies, Mingzhe began his creative journey by making short films and branded content in collaboration with platforms such as VICE and the NBA. His most recent short documentary, A View from Home, premiered at Hot Docs, North America’s largest documentary festival, where it was nominated for Best Canadian Short Documentary. He is currently developing Fantasy, a narrative short film, and Adventure of Ming Ming in Parallel Silence, his debut feature-length documentary.
