Overview

Volcelest

Winter is here. To survive, Fuseline, the little ermine, forced by the lack of food, flees her wild environment and settles near an isolated farm and its chickens. Her arrival threatens the precarious existence of the man who lives there.

Eric Briche

Born in 1971 in the Angouleme countryside where he grew up, his taste for drawing led him to the Beaux Arts de Poitiers in 1989, from which he graduated in 1994. After a storyboard internship at the CNBDI in 1998, during which he discovered animation, he began working on series, alternating between layout, character design and storyboard. From 2010 onwards, he worked mainly on feature films. First on Couleur de peau : Miel, a film by Jung Henin and Laurent Boileau (Audience Award and UNICEF Prize - ANNECY 2012), where he was in charge of several storyboard sequences, character design and layout posing supervision. He then joined Prima Linea for two feature films. In 2012, he worked on Loulou, l'incroyable secret, a film by Grégoire Solotareff and Éric Omond (César for Best Animated Film 2014), on which he held several positions, storyboarding, supervising set layout and layout posing, and ending with animation. In 2014, he worked on Michaël Dudok de wit's La tortue rouge (Cannes Special Prize "un certain regard" 2016), where he designed several characters and props, and supervised the layout. In 2015, he became animator at Silex films on Les Aventuriers de l'Art moderne a series by Amélie Harrault, Pauline Gaillard and Valérie Loiseleux. He then continued to assist Amélie Harrault on her new project Romantismes, a series in development on which he does layout, animation as well as technical and graphic research. At the same time, since 2008, he has been working at EMCA, l'École des Métiers du Cinéma d'Animation d'Angoulême, where he shares his skills by teaching layout and storyboarding, and supporting students in the follow-up of their projects.
