DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Irving Uribe Nares
Irving was born in Mexico City but has lived a large part of his life in Ecatepec, where he has carried out most of his work. The reality of life in Ecatepec led him to pursue film. He started assisting Amat Escalante and Carlos Reygadas. In 2015, he was selected to participate in the Laboratory of Experimental Cinema, LABEX, in Santiago, Chile, and in 2018 he was awarded the Mexi-Cannes residency at the Guanajuato International Film Festival. Then he went on to direct. Irving has directed the short film Gaza (2010), selected at the International Film Festivals of Morelia, Baghdad, Dublin, Bogot á , among others. His next short film, De Hombres y Bestias (2014), received the Special Jury Prize at the 12th Morelia International Film Festival and the Special Jury Mention at the 21st Geneva International Film Festival (Tous- É crans), Switzerland as well as the official selections in FICUNAM, GIFF, CORTO E FIENO (Italy).
