DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY - Lin Tam

Lin Tam is an award-winning female Asian American immersive storyteller who specializes in cross-disciplinary collaboration from strategy to development, building global resources within creative and technical teams. Growing up, Tam noticed there was not only a lack of animation shows for females, but also glaring invisibility of Asian Americans in entertainment, both in front of and behind the camera. In response to these concerns, she founded immix Studios — a pioneering animation studio mixing storytelling with technology for virtual production, through which she and like-minded creators could produce impactful, diverse stories across various digital platforms. As a member of the Producers Guild of America, Tam has created, produced, and directed award-winning children's animation shows and shorts including The Bear Bear and Messer Show, Startup Day and Life Bites. The Adventures of Andy Applebutter was nominated for the Mipcom Jr. Licensing Challenge in Cannes. As a member of Screen Producers Australia, Tam has worked on many AR/VR projects, developing interactive storytelling that engage the audience in cinematic experiences which leave lasting memories. Tam has participated in Village Roadshow’s Innovation Program and ACMI X, specializing in emerging technologies for AR/VR entertainment. Tam’s expertise also extends to mobile gaming. She served as executive producer for a successful mobile game, SlingShot Cowboy, which reached the #1 spot in the All Games Category and #2 spot in the Top Free App Category for the US market, quickly amassing 8 million downloads.
